How Indie Book Designer works

You provide me with your final manuscript in .doc/.docx format and I'll create a professional interior design and format for your ebook and/or print book using industry standard software. Once the transaction is completed, you'll receive a confirmation email with information for sending in your book. I'll follow up with any questions.

When will I receive my interior book design?

Interior book formatting is runs about 3 weeks. Timing is dependent on running 10 business days. Please note these time frames are based from when I receive your info forms and the assumption any questions I may have are answered promptly.

Just let me know when you place your order and I'll do everything I can to meet your deadline and will definitely keep you informed along the way.

How Mystery Cover Designs works

You select your premade cover, custom designed cover package, any extras, and place your order.

 

For custom covers, once the transaction is completed, you'll receive a confirmation email with an information request document (title, author, series tagline, etc). You'll also receive a link to schedule a time to discuss your cover over the phone (or zoom) to make sure I understand your story and review any ideas you may have for your cover. For premade covers, please fill out your information at check out in the space provided.

 

As soon as I receive your order, I'll get to work on your design(s). For custom covers, Once your premade or custom designs are finalized, you'll receive an 1800 x 2700 px high res image plus a 6"x9" high res PDF. Please note: the text size and placement on premade covers may adjust based on length of title and author name.

If I'm designing your book interior, you'll receive a confirmation email with information and links to send your manuscript.

Series Covers

Found a cover you like and want it turned into a series? No worries! Most covers can be adapted for a series. Just drop me a note to discuss.

Love the cover but don't have a title?

Again, no worries. I'm happy to add your title to your purchased design once you have one for no additional fee.

When will I receive my premade cover/custom cover/author 3D promos/interior book design?

If you've purchased a premade cover, turn around time is 1-3 business days from receipt of your cover information. A custom cover is currently 10-14 business days. I'll discuss and confirm timing for customs when we have our consultation. Author 3D promos are 1-3 business days as well. Interior book formatting is currently 10 business days. Please note these time frames are based from when I receive your info forms and the assumption any questions I may have are answered promptly.

Are your book covers exclusive? 

All book covers on MysteryCoverDesigns.com are 100% exclusive and only sold once. However, I do make use of stock photography and illustrations therefore I can't guarantee that the image(s) on your cover will not be used elsewhere. Please note, if you love the title on your purchased premade cover, you are welcome to use it! But please, don't use any of my titles if you haven't bought the cover.

Can I make changes to a premade cover?

I offer premade cover upgrade packages on the Cover Upgrades page.

Can I make changes to a custom cover?

Your custom cover purchase includes 3 revisions. 

​

Can I make changes to my book's interior design?

Your book formatting purchase includes 15 revisions (each individual word/grammar/format change is counted as a single revision). Any revisions beyond that are .99 each.

What if I need multiple covers for a series?

No worries! Just drop me an email to discuss. Discounted pricing is available for series purchases.

Artist/Interior Design Credit

By purchasing one of my premade or custom covers, you agree to credit Teri Barnett/ MysteryCoverDesigns.com as the cover artist on the copyright page of your print book and/or ebook. If I've formatted your book, you also agree to include Interior Design by Teri Barnett/IndieBookDesigner.com on your copyright page.

Ownership Rights

Upon receipt of full payment, Mystery Cover Designs grants the client exclusive license to use the final cover design artwork (PDF, JPEG or other publishing-ready format) for their ebook and/or print book and associated promotional materials. Alterations of proof and/or final designs are not permitted under the terms of this agreement.  Client will contact Mystery Cover Designs for any alterations needed. Please note, there may be an additional fee associated with alterations. These same rights apply to Indie Book Designer.

Promotions

You agree to the use of your cover and/or book design(s) in Mystery Cover Designs/Indie Book Designer's promotional materials.

​

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for proofing the book cover design and/or book interior design provided by Mystery Cover Designs/Indie Book Designer. It is strongly suggested you request a proof from the printer before ordering any materials using the book cover and/or interior design. At no time will Mystery Cover Designs/Indie Book Designer be held financially or legally responsible for any problems, costs, fees or expenses incurred by client as a result of using the book cover design.

Provided Images

If you choose to provide an image for use on your branding or cover materials, you assume all liability for that image. By submitting it, you guarantee you have full rights to its use. Mystery Cover Designs/Indie Book Designer is not liable should any issues or disputes arise, including any legal or settlement fees.

 

Liability

Mystery Cover Designs/Indie Book Designer is not liable for incidental, indirect, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages of any kind, including loss of revenues or profits, loss of business or reputation, or loss of data, in any way related to their services. Mystery Cover Designs/Indie Book Designer is not responsible for any claim, loss, or injury based on errors or any other inaccuracies appearing on our site or in our clients’ written documents, including without limitation as a result of any breach of the terms and conditions of this agreement.

Confidentiality

All provided information and materials are considered confidential and only for use by Mystery Cover Designs/Indie Book Designer. Your information and/or project materials will not be given out or shared with any third party, unless you request otherwise.

​

Refund Policy

Due to the nature of digital designs, no refunds will be given.
